2007 National Jewellery Competition

Variety and Imagination were once again benchmarks for excellence in the 2007 National Jewellery Competition which was judged in September. Taking out the supreme award this year was Ian Clarke of Oamaru.

The judges Alan Priestley, Sandy Piggot & Brent Sutcliffe, were all impressed with the standard and the variety of design and the technical challengers that are expressed in these pieces of Jewellery art.

The open class winner Ian Clarks stand out ring was amazing for its fine detail and articulated sections. Megan Tileys' delicate brooch, with its fine piercing, and Ben Clancys' silver pendant with an inner articulated pendant. The JMF congratulates you all, it is nice to show the trade and public what talented people we have in our industry.
